Antique vehicle event Riga Retro returns to Riga Motor Museum

This Saturday, August 13th the biggest antique vehicle event in Latvia “Riga Retro” shall take place at Riga Motor Museum.

Now that the Riga Motor Museum has opened its doors to public after a large-scale reconstruction the Riga Retro event returns to Museum. The event is organized by the Antique Automobile Club of Latvia and Riga Motor Museum and it gathers participants from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia and Russia.

Visitors will have the possibility to see the retro cars starting from 9.30 till 12.00 o’clock at Riga Motor Museum, S. Eizenšteina Str. 6.

This year approximately seventy retro cars and motorcycles shall participate in the event. Many of them are truly unique and exceptional examples. The oldest vehicle to take part in Riga Retro will be a 1934 Peugeot 401. Spectators will also have the possibility to see a 1947 BMW R35 motorcycle that once was the most popular motorcycle of the BMW brand with the longest production run. Furthermore, a 1961 MG MGA 1600 and a 1967 Austin Healey 3000, soviet time cars and Youngtimer vehicles from the1970s and 1980s will also be participating in the event.

After the car show at Riga Motor Museum participants shall line-up for the traditional parade through the streets of Riga. Parade starts at 12.00 o’clock from Riga Motor Museum.
